Mars retrograde (RX) in Gemini was difficult for many people. It churned up many inner conflicts and anxieties that revealed unconscious hurts. I know it hit me! How did Mars RX affect you? What did you heal? Now, Mars is moving direct you should feel lighter, playful, and you can push forward with your goals. People are less defensive making it more pleasant to communicate easier with others. Keep reading and I will explain how Mars is linked to your ego and self.

January 18 - Mercury Goes Direct & Sun and Pluto Conjunction
Mercury will go direct in Capricorn (8/9°), and Sun and Pluto also in Capricorn (28°) will be conjunct. Mercury now allows for clearer channels to open up. You should be able to make more congruent plans, especially, if you have been reassessing your life direction.
The Sun is your creation, your creativity, ego, your life force, and your purpose. Pluto takes you to the underworld and helps you look at the old, and discard what isn’t needed so you can continue evolving. Pluto moves slower and the lessons are over time. If you are repeating the same patterns, you need to understand the unconscious driver in your life. Who is the still ruling your life? With this aspect, your personal power, wits, and your will, can help propel you forward. Capricorn is a productive and practical energy.
The Ego
The ego is driven by self-interests, that is its job. It is a vital part of human existence. It helps you make decisions and consider your options. The ego helps you organize everything into threats and non-threats. A person with self-esteem issues will be more defensive and fearful and make unhealthy choices. This can lead to many relationship problems and feelings of unhappiness.
On the other side, the ego blocks you from meeting what I call your “true original self” or your higher self. Everyone on earth acquires an identity. A self-aware person has the ability to understand their motives. Even the Dalai Lama has an ego thus individualized. Everyone on the planet needs to be somebody. Do you know a single person on this planet that is egoless?
Amma, The Hugging Saint
Amma’s purpose has become a global enterprise. Her conscious ego has fed into this self-professed guru’s movement. There are many humble spiritual people offering services in less grand ways. Why has Amma become so visible in the world?

Here’s how I’d read this natal chart, even if I didn’t know it was Amma’s.
They chart shows an entrepreneurial and spiritual aptitude. A generous and warm persona who could have large impact on others and be important figure at home or at work. They can tap into being bold and taking risks in business. They will seek recognition for their achievements. They have the power to influence others and must be aware of their motives. They may experience career and financial losses, need to clear karma, and learn valuable lessons before they achieve financial success. They could either do well in business, could be famous, and/or marry someone wealthy/famous. They need to find stability through finding their own beliefs. You may travel to foreign places and could be a teacher. You must work through your own conflicts and understand what drives you.
Interpreting Natal Chart
Most of the planets are in the 4th Quadrant (left top side). This represents your interactions with the outer world including community, institutions, and career. Depending on the person’s psychology, the person either has a desire to serve others or self or both. Their rising sign is Scorpio which makes Pluto their ruling planet (Mars in ancient astrology), and themes of the eighth house. Pluto (tranformer) is conjunct their Leo mid-heaven (ambition, public persona, recognition). Scorpio is the sign of psychology, sexual intimacy, and secrecy. It deals with the light and shadow parts of human psyche. Leo is ruled by the sun (ego-self). They love being the centre of attention. They can be creative, generous, charismatic, narcissistic, and proud or self-loving in a healthy way.
The Leo south node in the mid-heaven suggests in past lives they maybe reigned over kingdoms or are more interested in self than others. The Aquarius north node in the fourth house is unfamiliar territory. Their soul is here to be more community focused and help others. They will learn how to set themselves apart and need to find a cause that is part of their soul’s evolution.
The Gemini Moon in eighth house (shared resources, karma, money matters) indicates a person with transformative capabilities through sharing literature. This is the house of Scorpio and Pluto, further amplifying this person’s interests in divination and financial gains. This moon placement is intellectual before heart centred. Placed in the eighth house they should be mindful of any unscrupulous tendencies or be vigilant of harmful people. They need to nurture others and tame any tendency to be an overbearing matriarch. At the heart of this chart is evolution of the spiritual self, karma, gains, and balance. The Stellium in Libra in the twelfth house once again suggests balance of power, will, desire, and intentions.

My natal Mars is in my first house and my rising sign is Sagittarius. I was wounded by many childhood traumas. First house is self, Mars is conflicts. This is where astrology is priceless. When transiting Mars RX made an opposition to my natal Mars, Moon (mother, unconscious, emotional personality), Neptune (spirituality, dreams, delusions) and rising. I saw the Mars RX was going to happen in my seventh house (relationships, contracts, open enemies), When unresolved childhood traumas surfaced, I was able to stay calm and work through these buried hurts head on.
